Realme Band review

Smart bands - the smart bracelets that track physical activity - have been around for years. There are several, with often similar characteristics and prices that make them attractive even to the less passionate. Realme band wants to fit in here, proposing itself at a price of 24,99 € which will tempt serial savers. The cost is therefore competitive but the characteristics? To find out, we tried it for a few weeks.

Come if you present Realme Band?

Realme band is made up of three pieces: the central body and the two parts of the strap.  The latter takes off to discover the USB-A connector necessary for charging the smart band. In fact, inside the package you will not find any cables and no bases: everything you need is integrated. We don't mind the solution: travel light, you are not bound to other accessories and you are free to load it practically anywhere. The only unconvincing element is the fact that the connector is slightly curved, which does not always facilitate entry into the USB port.

Contrary to what we saw on the competition, it does not adopt any particular solution for the closure, instead we find the good old buckle that yes, it has a little less appeal, but does her job in an excellent way.

The central body instead houses all the technology of this smart band, starting from 0,96 inch LCD display. In our opinion it is one of the weak points of the product: the resolution is very low, the readability is poor and the brightness is not convincing. Reading it under the sun will therefore be particularly difficult.
More it is not touch screen. You can scroll through the different menus using the soft touch button immediately below the screen but it is not the most convenient of solutions.

On the bottom we have the heartbeat sensor which we found quite accurate and in line with other similar products.

The battery overview and IP68 certification complete the overview. The first offers you about 7 days of autonomy, which means you could go for a whole week without having to worry about Realme Band. Really not bad even if the competition manages to do something more. There IP68 certification instead it guarantees resistance to water and dust.

Cumbersome interaction and minimal software

Realme Band review: too little, too lateAs mentioned above, to manage the band you will have to use it pulsating soft touch which allows you to switch from one screen to another with a touch while holding it down you can enter the different menu items or start training recording.

There aren't many screenshots. Set aside the main one, we have the steps, the heart rate, 3 different sports - selectable from the 9 present on the app -, the stopwatch, Find my phone and system information. All this in English, there is no Italian language for Realme Band.

And the app? IS Realme Link, the same one we used with the Realme Watch (here our review), is located in Italian and allows you to check the remaining battery (also visible on the device) and the recorded statistics: steps, sleep, heart rate and workouts. By clicking on each single parameter you can view some more data and check the information collected in the previous days. Don't expect anything complicated. The statistics are quite basic and physical activity does not include recording the route via the smartphone's GPS.

On the front of the settings instead we have the possibility to change the dial, activate notifications, set the alarm and water reminder, useful if you struggle to hydrate. There are also goals, il automatic exercise detection and mode do not disturb, so you will not receive notifications during the night.

Realme Band review: buy it or not?

Realme Band review: too little, too lateRealme band it came on the market at the wrong time. In fact, the market is full of similar products that often offer a little more in terms of functionality and usability. On his side, however, it has the price: at 24,99 euros it is probably the cheapest smart band on the market but it will hardly be enough to unseat the most famous opponents.
