Few things weigh on me like washing the floor. In fact, the procedure is always unnecessarily long: fill the bucket, pour in the detergent, mop (several times because the bucket must be emptied) and then wait for it to dry everything. As if that were not enough, at the end of the procedure it would be a good idea to wash the rag, so you also gain a good round of washing. All this can be avoided with Polti Moppy, a steam mop which makes practicality its strong point.
Polti Moppy: how it works
What does "steam mop" mean? Moppy consists of two parts: a base and a cordless mop. The first is compact, it includes a 0,7 liter tank and must be connected to electricity. The second is in anodised aluminum, is incredibly light and easy to handle and comes with a microfiber cloth that you can easily peel off and wash in the washing machine. Together, the base and the brush form an absolutely compact and easy-to-carry household appliance, therefore also convenient for those who have houses on several floors.
I know, at this point you are wondering how it works. In reality, the operation is very simple: the base uses the water tank for generate steam. By aligning the arrows on the base and the brush you can sanitize and moisten the microfibre cloth after which you only have to use the brush to clean both the floors and any vertical surfaces. The light structure of Moppy in fact allows you to use it both to give a quick pass to the glass and to sanitize the external surfaces of the cabinets (I also cleaned the desk there but shhh, it's a secret). The jointed head and the extendable handle, on the other hand, allow you to get almost anywhere without effort.
All this without detergent, but only with the small integrated water tank. Calculate that my house is about 50 square meters and one full of water was enough for me 4 times. In short, 0,7 liters may seem small but in reality they are also sufficient for larger homes.

Actually yes. The Polti steam mop allowed me to easily replace the rag. The level of cleanliness is really good, that of sanitation as well and inside the package you will even find electrostatic cloths for dust. You just need to attach one to trap hair, cobwebs or, if desired, the hair of your pets. In short, the versatility is extreme and the result is excellent. Of course, in case of encrustations you will have to abandon Moppy and remove them with a lot of patience, but on all other occasions you will find it practically perfect.
Then we have to add other undeniable advantages to the excellent result. The first is ease of use: in a few minutes clean floors without any effort and without a bucket to fill and empty. Furthermore consume less water and your hands always remain dry: no rag to wring or drown in water and detergent. Plus you won't have to use chemicals, which is especially useful if you have small children crawling or walking around the house. The cloth then captures 99,9% of germs and bacteria present, a godsend for anyone with any allergies.
However, Polti Moppy has one flaw. The Velcro part of the aforementioned cloth, the one that hooks onto the mop, tends to come loose after a few weeks. Nothing you can't solve with a good sewing machine, mind you, but I would have expected more resistance.
Polti Moppy: to buy it or not to buy it?
The steam mop of the Italian company is available at 129 € and it is a great deal. It is perfect for housewives tired of the usual mop cleaning, for lazy singles and for the elderly who struggle to handle the old mop. In short, it is suitable for practically anyone, but also to any type of house and any kind of surface.
