It was developed and published by Square, which we all know is now half of the Square Enix company. The game was directed by Hiromichi Tanaka, designed by Koichi Ishii, who is the creator of the series, and whose producer was Tetsuhisa Tsuruzono. The work was signed by manga and anime artist Nobuteru Yūki, and Hiroki Kikuta was on board as a composer. All of these names already included people with experience in the game development arena and the game was incredibly successful even years after its initial release as it transitioned to the Western market.
In 2017, this original game was part of the Seiken Densetsu collection released in Japan for Nintendo Switch. In 2019, we also saw Collection of Mana with this title in its original form. Later that month, they announced that the remake is slated, set for early 2020, and developed for PC, PS4, and NS. The character models are improved, as the Trials of Mana TGS 2019 trailer suggests, but recent disclosures also show that players will be able to switch classes and participate in a new combat system that will make fights even more epic than before.
