Lucy Boynton she will play Marie Antoinette in the Searchlight biopic Chevalier de Saint-Georges, which she will star Kelvin Harrison Jr. To report the news is Deadline. Lucy Boynton has been involved in several projects that have been successful in recent years, including the musical and sentimental comedy Sing Street, the Netflix series Gypsy, the film adaptation of Kenneth Branagh Murder on the Orient Express, Gareth Evans Apostle's horror and above all Bohemian Rhapsody by Bryan Singer. On the set of the latter film, the actress met her current partner Rami Malek, Oscar winner for his performance of Freddie Mercury.
The film will be directed Stephen Williams, already behind the camera for some episodes of Lost and for the recent miniseries Watchmen. He will also be part of the cast Samara Weaving, known for The Babysitter and Till Death Do Us Part.

Born in 1745 in the French Caribbean, de Saint-Georges was the illegitimate son of an African slave and a French plantation owner. He reached unlikely heights in French society, distinguishing himself both as a violinist and composer, and as a fencing champion. However, an unfortunate love affair with a French noblewoman and a quarrel with Marie Antoinette and her court led to premature ruin. Element Pictures, Robinson and Dianne McGunigle will produce Chevalier de Saint-Georges.
Lucy Boynton recently wrapped production on The Ipcress File, alongside Tom Hollander and Joe Cole. The actress will also soon be part of the adaptation signed by Hugh Laurie from Why didn't they ask Evans? from Agatha Christie, Together with Will Poulter. Boynton will also star as Marianne Faithfull in Faithfull, a biopic which she will also executive produce focusing on the iconic rock singer's rise to fame during the time of the British Invasion in music.
