As expected, Knights Chronicle 2.5 Update looked at the light of day just as I started to wonder if it was possible that NetMarble was not continuing its good tradition of improving it every month. My fear was unfounded since NetMarble did everything in its power to make KC always interesting and demanding… again.
This update follows the winning formula of previous updates and we were introduced with Awaken Rebecca and two new heroes - Emperor's Child Silvaria and Honorable Hero Astaroth. On top of that, there's the new Advent dungeon, the “Endless Nightmare, Astaroth Advent”, and some minor UI tweaks, such as the new Rankings button on the lobby screen.
Rebecca is now a whole different hero whose skills are formidable. Spirit of Revolution is the name of the new awakening skill. It grants an 80% chance to inflict one turn extinction after using Ultimate. Additionally, there is an 80% chance that the Light of Judgment will be transmitted to all enemies if the initial skill does not kill a target.
Silvaria is the first hero introduced in Update 2.5. She is Antalus' daughter and she refused to take Luis Immortality Reagent because she thought she was already perfect the way she is. She later reconsidered this decision because of her father but it remained the same for centuries and continued to look at everyone else except her as test subjects. Her healing abilities are second to none in the whole of Garniel and everyone respects her despite her arrogant nature. Silvaria will bring balance changes to the game as she is the most powerful support character in the game.
Astaroth is the second hero introduced in Update 2.5. He is a member of the Greater Demon tribe who entered Garniel via Timespace Void. It feeds on human souls and can charm almost anyone. He is much more powerful than Karina or Kamia, but he cannot muster a soul without a pact or contract with a reckless human being. Astaroth has a high chance of applying the killing curse to his enemies and deals greater damage to targets with abnormal status. He alone is an average hero, but in a team made up of rockslides, he can wreak real havoc on any opponent.
After the introduction of Adrian, Silvaria is another character who will definitely change the perspective of Knights Chronicle. Even so, the lack of supporting and defending characters is evident and hopefully NetMarble will address this issue again in the months to come.
Silvaria and Astaroth are implemented in the BlueMoonGame Knights chronicle tier list where you can see their in-game value against other heroes.
As you can see, Knights Chronicle moves forward without looking back. Pretty much a whole new game compared to the game from a year ago. I certainly hope NetMarble will continue to do what they do best: put together a new hero every month and keep our interest intact.
Garniel is always in danger and real heroes never give up. Good luck Heroes of Garniel, and may the RNG be with you!
