The Marvel Avengers Beta is almost here and we can't wait as much as you to play as our favorite superhero. The beta will be available to PS4 users - who have pre-ordered the game - first on August 7. It will be unlocked for PC and Xbox One owners, who also pre-purchased it, a week later, before an open beta is available to everyone.
However, once the beta is over, you might wonder if your progress from it will continue into the full version of Marvel's Avengers. Most game betas tend to reset player progress before full launch, but will Crystal Dynamic's action-adventure RPG be any different?
Well, no, for the most part. Your progress will not carry over from the beta to the full game when it releases on September 4th. Marvel's Avengers website posted a beta FAQ page after its July War Table live stream, and it has been confirmed here that progress will be reset.
This means that your character progress, gear, unlock skills, and story progress will only count during beta. Once completed, all of this data will be deleted. This ensures that everyone starts with a clean slate from launch day, which will make the playing field level for all players.
What do we mean by "mostly" then if all progress is reset? According to the Beta FAQ page, people who participate in the beta will receive two rare nameplates that will carry over in Marvel's Avengers "Full Version."
These nameplates serve as rewards for helping Crystal Dynamics and its sister studios eliminate last minute issues and bugs before launch. One nameplate will be given to you for simply participating in the beta, while the other comes from winning over all three HARM challenge rooms available in the beta. Nameplates will be added to your game when you link your Square Enix membership account to Marvel's Avengers at launch.
Finally, progress will continue between beta weekends. This means that if you play the beta on PS4 from August 7th, you will keep your progress for the beta periods which also start on August 14th and August 21st. Each beta only works on weekends, so be sure to try rvel's MaAvengers when you can.
