Siri is making her revolution. Apple's voice assistant can be used without an internet connection and will respond to requests more quickly. Siri will also land on devices from third-party manufacturers.
This June 7, 2021, Apple is holding its WWDC conference dedicated to developers, during which all the software novelties to come for the ecosystem of the Apple brand are announced. The opening keynote was an opportunity to discuss new features for the voice assistant Siri, which will be available with the iOS 15 update expected for next fall.
The biggest improvement is the integration of a offline mode for Siri. The assistant will therefore be able to understand and respond to a large number of requests without the need for an internet connection, everything will be managed at the local level of the device. For example, it will become possible to program an alarm or to change applications by voice on your iPhone offline. Of course, many features of Siri will not be available offline, such as web search.

Result, Siri will also be more responsive and faster to respond to requests that no longer require an internet connection. It is logical, the data exchange process is greatly shortened with this new way of doing things.
Apple announced that these changes will also have positive effects on the respect of user privacy. Since requests will now be able to be processed “on-device”, data will no longer pass through the cloud on Apple's servers. “This responds to the biggest privacy issue that is criticized for voice assistants, namely unwanted audio recording,” said the American group.
Finally, we learned that Siri would be supported by devices from other brands. Devices supporting HomeKit will be able to integrate voice control via Siri before the end of the year. On the other hand, a HomePod will have to be on the same network as these devices for Siri to work on it.
