iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 are now available to all users! Apple has indeed just launched the deployment of the final version of the updates. We explain how to install them below.
As expected, Apple launched the deployment of the final version of iOS 15, the latest version of the iPhone OS, and iPadOS 15, the iPad operating system, on Monday, September 20, 2021. Unsurprisingly, iOS 15 has fewer new features than the iOS 14 update, which offered a revised interface, with a library of applications and the appearance of widgets.
However, the iOS 15 update is on board several eagerly awaited new features. Among the major advantages of the OS, there is a one-hand mode for Safari, a function called “SharePlay” for Facetime, the downloading of photos received on iMessage in the photo gallery, new modes of concentration to avoid notifications while working, and a revised photo application with a Google Lens-style copy paste text mode.
Note that some new features will not be available on older iPhones. This is particularly the case
These options require a smartphone with an A12 chip or a newer chipset. Above all, Apple has already revealed that not all the new features announced will be offered at launch, such as App Privacy Report and 3D navigation in CarPlay.
How to install iOS 15 / iPadOS 15 update on iPhone or iPad?
Before installing the update on your iPhone or iPad, we recommend that you back up data stored in iCloud. Likewise, it is necessary to have 50% of the battery available before starting the installation of the update. Finally, we recommend that you connect to a Wi-Fi network to save your 4G or 5G data envelope.
- See you in the Settings from your iPhone or iPad
- Go to General
- Press Software update
- Then click on Installer
If your iPhone / iPad is already up to date, no update will be offered. As a reminder, all iPhone released from iPhone 6S are compatible with the update to iOS 15. On the iPadOS side, all Apple tablets sold from iPad Air 2 are concerned.
