Google it usually tries out new ideas and new projects on a large scale, giving users the opportunity to test new experimental features. In his latest experiment Google has launched some new WebXR APIs for Chrome, you design combining augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). It is therefore possible to try these experiments by the Mountain View giant on your smartphones, via Chrome, to immerse yourself in augmented reality.

Only three of these new features are testable today, with the fourth - perhaps the most interesting - still remaining in development. The first is “Floom”, created in collaboration with Google Maps, which generate portals on the ground to see what's on the other side of the Earth. You can then see what exactly is on the other side of the world, also displaying the name of the corresponding location.
The other experiment is "Sodar", a “social distance radar”, which shows a two-meter bubble around your position in real time. To use it correctly, you need to hold the phone at face level, which could be uncomfortable in everyday life. Google's third API is “Measure Up”, a feature that allows you to measure the length, area and volume of any object immediately.
Finally “Picturescape”, still work-in-progress but very promising, allows you to view your memories using the Google Photos library to create a virtual photo gallery. From what we have seen, it seems a very fascinating project, which allows you to literally immerse yourself in your memories.
