Ring Fit Adventure is coming to Nintendo Switch starting tomorrow, offering a creative new way to get in shape while battling monsters in a fantasy world. It's a new idea and it pays off as you get used to the game.
There are a variety of mini-games available in Ring Fit, which relate to the exercises you will perform using the devices included in the game. It will make you sweat, but worth it compared to regular exercise programs.
With that, we have prepared a getting started guide that will introduce you to the basics. It's easy, but hard to master. Good luck!
How to start playing Ring Fit Adventure
Getting started with Ring Fit Adventure
Ring Fit Adventure comes with two devices. The first is a strap that attaches to the thigh to track your walking and jumping activities. The second is a circular exercise ring controller that tracks arm movements and other movements.
To do this, you will need two JoyCon controllers, which come with the Nintendo Switch. One of the JoyCon controllers slips into the leg strap, while the other adapts perfectly to the circular controller. Once inserted, start the game and they should sync.
Remember that these two special controllers and the JoyCons are needed to operate the game. So be aware if you buy the game used afterwards.
Switch to adventure mode or try browsing
Once you have set up your controllers and are ready to go, start the game. From there you have various options available.
Adventure mode is the main attraction. This is where you'll travel the world trying to defeat a super muscular dragon named Dragauex. Along the way, you will face many of his disbelievers by performing specific drills to take them down.
If you are not in the mood to play the whole game, there is also a quick play mode. This is where you can play from several unlocked mini-games. Workouts are also reserved for specific body parts - so you don't have to skip leg day.
There are various exercises altogether, on the topic of chest, legs and arms. You can also do yoga poses if you are flexible enough, although that is totally up to you. No matter what you prefer, the combat system is easy to adapt. And if it's too difficult, you can increase the difficulty - and the intensity - accordingly.
Don't push yourself too hard with Ring Fit Adventure. It'll wear you out if you let it. The best way to do this is to get in shape and watch yourself gradually so you don't run out of breath. Remember that you also have a pause button: it never hurts to take a break!
