There are a bunch of different types of trees available in New Horizons. They are very important in the game for delivering fruit, catching insects, and improving your island score. They can also be important for securing furniture and squeaking bells.
Sometimes the trees are right where you want to build or decorate and need to go. In New Horizons there is a way to move trees without removing them completely or leaving a stump to cope with.
There are four different types of trees in New Horizons which may or may not appear on your island. The trees available are oaks, fruit trees, bamboo and cedar. Oak, bamboo, and fruit trees can be planted just about anywhere on the island. Cedars can only be planted in the upper areas of your island.
In previous games, the only way to remove trees from an area was to dig up saplings or chop down mature trees, which made them disappear. This changed in the last game of the Animal Crossing series.
Plants are easy to move into New horizons. If you dig up a sapling, it will be moved to your pocket and can be planted elsewhere. It's great if you accidentally place a sapling somewhere you don't want it to.
A similar method can also be used on mature trees, but it requires an additional step. You can't just dig up a mature tree normally because you're not strong enough. To get around this, just eat fruit. If you eat fruit, you will gain strength and be able to dig up a tree like a sapling. The tree will be placed in your inventory and can be replanted as a sapling. It can allow you to move fruit trees, cedar, oak and bamboo. This is great for moving trees that get in the way of your decorating plans without getting rid of them altogether. As long as you replant the tree, you can maintain your island's score.
