If you want to complete your museum in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, or if you just want to make a lot of money with just one bug catch, you'll probably be looking for a Tarantula sooner or later.
The pesky hairy spider is known in Animal Crossing games to be incredibly difficult to find and capture, and it's coming back to New Horizons in full force. Admittedly, it's a bit easier to find this time around and appears fairly regularly on the island compared to previous games.
Yet, how exactly do you find and capture this creature in your quest to complete Creaturepedia?
First and foremost, make sure you're playing at the right time of the month. A tarantula will only appear in your word in January, February, March, April, November and December. Then make sure that you play the game at a specific time during those months, from 19 p.m. to 4 a.m. Yes, he does appear really late at night, so get ready to shoot an allnighter to get him.
If you meet the criteria, you've just completed the easiest part of getting a tarantula. Congratulations! Now on to the hard part. Just because you are playing the game at the right time does not mean that a tarantula will appear. It is incredibly rare and difficult to meet the creature.
Our advice is to walk around the entire map. And we say running running will alert the tarantula and make it run after you, knocking you out if it hits you. When walking, also make sure you have your net at all times.
If you can't find one, enter a building and then leave it. This will reset the outside of your world. Repeat this process until you find one that works and stops. Hold button A with your net out to walk slowly and approach the tarantula. As soon as he looks at you and lifts his two front legs to defend himself. Stop walking! Wait for him to lower his legs, move a little closer to him and as soon as he lifts his legs, stop again.
Repeat this process until you get to a distance for your net to catch it and let it fly and you should finally be able to grab one and add it to your museum, home, or collection.
