How to get Cherry Blossom Petals in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

April is the time of year for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players to explore their islands and observe how the seasons change. At least those who are in the northern hemisphere. If you are in the Northern Hemisphere, you have the option of adding cherry blossoms, more commonly known as Sakura Blossom, to your island. For those who like to create seasonal DIY projects, this plant is a must-have, as you can acquire the petals that fall from trees.

To get cherry blossom petals, you must first add sakura blossom trees to your island. Fortunately, all residents of the game should already have them on their island. They bloom in April for those in the northern hemisphere, and those in the southern part can expect to see them coming in October. You find them like hardwoods, so if you remove one from your island, you won't be able to see the cherry blossoms when they arrive during your hemisphere's time of year.

Adding the petals to your inventory is also pretty easy. You have to treat them like insects flying around you. Whenever you see petals falling to the ground or floating in the air, you have to take out your respective net and catch them. This adds them to your inventory and you now have access to them for all your seasonal DIY projects. For those in the Southern Hemisphere who still want access to these petals, you can visit a friend whose trees are in season to add them to your inventory if your friends are kind enough to invite you over. There are many projects that require these petals, such as the Cherry-Blossom Clock, Branches, Bonsai, and Observation Lantern.

Be sure to participate in the Bunny Day festivities during the season. The event runs from April 1 to 12, but cherry blossoms are expected to stay in season until the end of April.
