Crossing your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons saves time. What's the best way for you to get from one place to another? A great way to connect your island is to use bridges and slopes.
You have to unlock the museum and Nook's cranny. You must have them fully open and available. After that, Tom Nook will tell you how he wants to make the island bigger and add more space. Tom provides you with the DIY recipe to unlock the bridge, and you start crafting them at any station. You will need: four wooden stakes, four clay and four stones. Of the materials, the wood stakes will be the longest because you need three woods for each, which means you need to collect a total of 12 woods to build all of the wood stakes.
When the item is ready, you can place it anywhere on your island to connect it to another section of the island and connect the two. You now have additional space for your new Animal Crossing: New Horizons home.
To build a slope, you need to get a bit further out of your way to build it. Go to your Resident Services building first and talk to Tom Nook to discuss the infrastructure and choose the tilt option. You can choose from these options:
- Natural ramp: 98 bells
- Blue plank ramp: 128 bells
- Ramp in white planks: 128 bells
- Log staircase: 168 bells
- Brick staircase: 168 bells
- Blue steel staircase: 228 bells
- Red steel staircase: 228 bells
When you choose the one you like, you will receive the item from Tom, and you can place it anywhere you want to add it to your island. However, you don't have to pay all of these bells up front. A construction worker will be standing next to them and you can give them small portions of bells to complete the construction. When you reach the full among you, you are good to go and the project is done.
These projects are a great way to modify your island and make crossing the location much faster than normal. You also have more room for your favorite projects.
