All games need some sort of high level fashion chase that keeps your grinding. For Animal Crossing, which has always been Golden Tools. These glamorous versions of your everyday tools add flair to the procedure, and they've made a comeback in New Horizons.
We don't know all the requirements for all the tools at this time, but we do know some of them.
Golden Net
Catch every bug in the game at least once.
Golden fishing rod
Catch all the fish in the game at least once.
For the other tools, we don't know exactly how to get the gold versions yet, but the list below will give you a good idea of what sort of thing you'll need to do, as it will detail the requirements for previous games.
We would imagine that the requirements for the watering can and the slingshot are very similar in New Horizons, if not the same. The demands of the shovel and ax will more than likely have changed, but what, we don't know at this time.
Golden ax
Previous game - buy 50 saplings, then buy them from an NPC.
Golden shovel
Previous game - buy 50 bags of fertilizer, then talk to an NPC.
Golden slingshot
Previous game - Shoot 14 balloons, then hit the golden ball.
Golden watering can
Maintain a Perfect City for 15 days, then talk to Isabelle.
We'll be spending a lot more time on our island over the next few days and update this list as we learn more about the requirements of these magnificent golden tools.
If you have found this guide useful, we have other guides that may be of interest to you as well. From whether you can move resident services, how to get more residents, the maximum number of residents you can have on your island, and how to get your hands on those pesky floating balloon gifts.
