Lu Wu is the first boss you'll encounter in Gunfire Reborn, and he can be a tough introduction to the escalation of difficulty that boss fights can represent. While you can pass the first level without relying too much on your dodge skill, in this fight it will be extremely important to combine the use of your dodge in conjunction with cover.
Lu Wu can perform several very damaging attacks, and you will either need to use the cover of the stones standing in the arena or prepare to move away. The bad news is he can attack while your dash is down, so make sure you rush for cover and don't expose yourself.
You should also know that you have to go through Lu Wu's shield and then damage his health. After taking enough damage, it will retreat to recharge its shields as smaller enemies spawn. Take them out quickly, because you don't want them still alive when the Big Boss returns.
This can get a bit tricky as some enemies will leave behind an area that deals damage over time if you enter it, so be sure to avoid them when fighting Wu Lu. If you have a weapon that deals electrical damage , you can take care of the shield pretty quickly every time it recharges it.
Types of attack
Lu Wu has several types of attacks. He can shoot you, which will involve raising his hand, telegraphing incoming damage. Get behind a pillar, as it can be difficult to properly dodge that one.
He will also try to reduce the distance by jumping on you, landing a vicious blow if he gets too close. Use your dodge to avoid this, then make space between yourself and approach another boulder. If you hang around, it will try to slam the ground, which can do a lot of damage.
Lu Wu can throw stones at you as well, but these are fairly well telegraphed by a circle of light on the ground, giving you time to get out of the area.
It goes without saying, but limiting the damage you take is a must, so focus on his attack patterns, dodging them, and then compromising his health.
