Before getting to the heart of the topic and seeing it in detail how to activate the data SIM of the Vodafone Station, I want to give you some information: you probably already know them, but refreshing your memory won't hurt you, quite the opposite.
First of all I want to tell you that, at the time of writing, the data SIM that comes with the Vodafone Station includes a bundle of 30 Giga per month to navigate away from home at the speed of 4.5G. Previously, however, Vodafone offered to its customers 15 Giga per day until the landline was activated and then only 1 Giga per month. More info here.
As you may already know, in order to use your Vodafone fixed line and proceed with the installation of the Vodafone Station, you must wait for an informative SMS from the operator's customer care, through which you will be given the green light to proceed.
As regards the data SIM, however, when it was delivered to you together with the Vodafone modem, you should have received an SMS to the number you provided when subscribing to the offer, in which you are confirmed that you can use the card to browse away from home, using any compatible device.
Vodafone Station data SIM activation
Once you have received the Vodafone Station, for activate the data SIM which is contained inside the sales package of the latter, you must first remove it from its special plastic housing and then follow the instructions contained in the document Useful information for you (section Next steps) which is also contained in the Vodafone Station sales package.
According to these instructions, to activate the 4G data SIM you have to “insert the SIM into a device with screen and keyboard and enter the PIN code you find on the card“. To proceed, therefore, insert the Vodafone SIM in the appropriate housing present on a tablet or smartphone in your possession and, as soon as you are asked to do so, write the pin code reported on the card of the card in the appropriate text field: here is in detail how to proceed on the various devices.
If you have a device Android, depending on the brand and model of smartphone / tablet in your possession, the slot in which to insert the SIM may be in different positions. For example, in the case of a device with a removable battery, it may be located near the battery compartment. Once identified, then insert the SIM in the latter, taking care to insert it in the right direction.
If, on the other hand, you have a device with a non-removable battery, the SIM slot should be located on the side frame of the latter: to proceed, take the metal paper clip present in the sales package of the smartphone or tablet and insert it in the forum of the slot until it "pops" out. Then insert the SIM in the appropriate slot and reintroduce the slot in its place, so as to insert the card into the device.
Possiedi a iPhone or iPad? Again, use the metal paper clip supplied to extract the SIM slot, place the SIM in its housing and then reintroduce the slot into the device. Once you have introduced the SIM into your device, you should see a message warning you that a new card has been inserted. Press the button Unlock and write the PIN of the SIM card (shown on the card of the latter), using the appropriate numeric keypad.
From now on, your Vodafone SIM is active and you can use it to surf the Internet. What to do in case of problems or doubts
