Using the DRS can be very important in F1 racing as it can be of great help when trying to overtake your opponents. But how to activate it in F1 2020? Let's go over several ways to activate it in the game.
If you are new to Formuala 1 and might not know what it is, DRS is short for Drag Reduction System. DRS is an ability for a car to lower a flap on the vehicle's rear fender. The aim of the DRS is to increase the straight line speed of F1. However, there are two caveats when using it. First, runners can only use the DRS in certain areas, which are rightly called DRS areas. Second, a racer can only activate when they are within a second of the car in front of them. If you meet any of these conditions, you are allowed to activate the DRS, as long as you are finished with the first two laps of the race.
There are two ways to activate the DRS during races, one is manual and the other automatic. To activate DRS manually during a race, you must first be in a DRS zone. You will know when you are in a zone when you hear a beep indicating that you are in a DRS zone. Additionally, if you see a green marker on the map, which is located in the lower half of the screen, it will indicate that you are entering a DRS area. To activate DRS, press Y / Triangle to activate your vehicle's DRS system.
You can also automatically activate the DRS during races. Go to the “Assists” tab and access the DRS assist option. You can turn it on so that the DRS activates automatically and you don't have to worry about it during races.
