While the upcoming arrival of Fortnite on Android is shaking the web, we learned in July that the game would unfortunately not be compatible with all Android smartphones, tablets and boxes. By looking at the configuration of our device, it is possible for us to know if Fortnite will be able to work under it. Here is a guide that will let you know if his Android device will be able to run the success of Epic Games.
While many rumors announce that the release of Fortnite could be done exclusively with the next Galaxy Note 9 from Samsung, Épic-Games announced last week that the game would unfortunately not be functional on all devices under Android. Although the American company disclosed in a press release a list of more than 20 Android devices that will be able to run Fortnite, we note that the company also made a mention “Other Android” which could suggest that many other smartphones not listed would be able to run the game, like OnePlus or Xiaomi.
By rummaging through a leaked Fortnite apk, our colleagues from Xda-developers managed to access a fairly detailed list of hardware and software requirements for an Android device to run Fortnite. We are therefore going to show you how to rely on this list to let you know whether or not a tablet, smartphone or android tv box can run Fortnite.
Note, however, that the list of necessary hardware and software requirements is based on the leaked Fortnite apk. It is not impossible that when the game is released this list will be revised upwards or downwards, thus limiting or increasing the list of Android devices capable of running Fortnite.
Examine the components of your Android device
First of all, we will start by examining all the components of our device. We will need to find the following information:- The version of Android installed
- The amount of Ram
- The processor
- CPU architecture and instructions
- The graphics processor
- The version of OpenGL used
- Compatibility with the Vulkan API
To get all its information, we will simply go through the application DevCheck Hardware ans System Info.
Once installed, launch the application and now we will go fishing for information. You can rely on the image below to help you locate the necessary information.
In our case, we end up with the following information:
- The version of Android installed: 8.1.0 Oreo
- The amount of Ram: 8 GB
- The processor : Qualcom Snapdragon 845
- CPU architecture and instructions: aarch64 (64-bit) and arm64
- The graphics processor: Adreno ™ 630
- The version of OpenGL used: OpenGL ES 3.2
- Compatibility with the Vulkan API: Yes
The minimum hardware and software requirements needed for Fortnite
Now that we have the information on our device, here is the list of the minimum hardware and software requirements to be able to launch Fortnie:- The version of Android installed must be at least 5.0 Lollipop
- CPU instructions must be in arm64
- Have at least 3GB of Ram
- OpenGL version must be at least 3.1
Note that XDA-Developers.com reports having found in the leaked Fortnite apk code a comment indicating that devices of a certain brand and that certain processors would not be compatible with Fortnite.
Thus The appliances of the brand HTC, Sony, Motorola, Lenovo et Essential would not currently be compatible with Fortnite. The same is true for devices with processors. Intel Atem or graphics processors PowerVR et Nvidia.
However, for people with a device of these brands or equipped with these processors, the minimum prerequisites prescribed by Epic Games would seem to indicate that the American company would work to maximize the number of Android devices capable of launching Fortnite.

This is the last step to find out if Fortnite will be playable on our Android device! To do this, simply rely on the tables below and check that the game is playable with your processor via the " Compatible Fortnite ? ».Processeurs Qualcomm Snapdragon
