It's not the first move that the Redmond behemoth is trying for permanently kill the old control panel: a revamped version of the disk management tool is currently being tested, a setting for changing the monitor refresh rate and control panel page has been introduced Programs and features now refer to the section App and features in Settings.
Not that that's a bad thing, at the moment Windows 10 is a mix of settings presented in a modern style in the Settings app and old control panels that it carries with it from the pre-Windows 8 era.
If you have already installed the update, to access the SYSTEM control panel just follow these simple steps:
- Click with the right key in an empty area of yours desktop
- Select the item New> Link
- In the text field that will appear, enter the string "explorer shell:::{BB06C0E4-D293-4f75-8A90-CB05B6477EEE}"Without quotes
- Once the button is clicked NEXT, you will be asked for the name to give to the link, write SYSTEM and complete the wizard
That's all, now from your desktop you can access the good old SYSTEM control panel with a simple double click on the newly created link. While waiting for Microsoft to include all the information in its new control panels, this will allow you to access the good old screen that we know well.
