French company Happn just got up 8 million, enough to accelerate the international deployment of the dating application.
Dating sites are no longer very "trendy". Today, mobility and immediacy are more and more important. Criteria that have allowed certain mobile dating applications to develop. The most talked about is Tinder. Launched two years ago, it connects people who like each other.
If the leader is American, a French application is progressing rapidly: Happn. If it describes itself as “the app that makes Tinder out of date”, it's because it goes further. When Happn members pass each other in a location, they are alerted. If their profiles match, they can contact each other. An application which is therefore intended to be in real time, mobile and geolocated.
Launched in early 2014, this French application already brings together over 1 million users and is present in Our country, Germany, England, Spain, Australia and the United States.
Today, the start-up is going further since it has just concluded a fundraising of 8 million with the investment fund Alven Capital et DN Capital as well as investors such as Fabrice Grinda.
Nenad Marovac, founder and manager of DN Capital, declared that: "Happn is an innovative company, which differentiates itself strongly in a very attractive sector". He believes in "the construction of the next key player in the multi-billion dollar mobile dating market ”.
Didier Rappaport, one of the founders of Happn, indicated that this fundraising “is excellent news for the development of Happn and its growth on the international scene. This allows us to quickly meet new audiences and respond to an undeniable enthusiasm for the service we offer, inspired by a simple idea: to offer people the possibility of finding people they have met ”.
A new step for the French start-up.
