Free has decided to update the remote control of the Freebox Pop. The new accessory has two additional buttons, one for Canal + and the other for Disney +. It is not yet known whether Free was able to correct the bugs reported by the first users.
Surprise: Free now includes a slightly different remote control in the Freebox Pop package. Aesthetically the new remote control looks a lot like the current one, except for the buttons on the top. Until then, the remote control offered three shortcuts, one for Netflix, the other for Prime Video and the last for Freebox TV.
The new remote control adds two Disney + and Canal + buttons and rearrange the buttons a bit at the top. For the rest, the device offers the same functions as the current remote control.

Free launches a brand new remote control for the Freebox Pop
It remains to be seen whether Free has succeeded in correcting some of the flaws and problems reported by some users. According to the first users to receive it, there is, it seems, a bit of change in the interior as the new version is significantly lighter. It is not known if Free has improved the connectivity of the device a little..
Some users did indeed report unpleasant latency issues with the first model. In some cases, it was necessary to wait several seconds before changing the channel or going down in a menu. Other users bluntly report that their remote control disconnects unexpectedly.
Two concerns that come up often and which seem to be related to interference problems. For now, users of the new remote are not reporting such problems, but it will probably take a few weeks to be sure. The new remote control is available to all new subscribers to the multi-TV option with Player Pop, as well as to all new Freebox Pop subscribers.
Free was not offering, at the time of this writing, to purchase the new remote control model separately. The old one remains available for € 19,90 - but on imagine that the operator will quickly update the site, immediately.
