Yes, you read that right. Fortnite now has boats! No more looking for a golf cart or walking - you can board a boat.
But it helps to find a boat first, yeah? It's a very big world with this Fortnite Chapter 2 map; Finding one can be a bit tricky if you don't know where to look. Fortunately, we have a few 'hot spots' where you can find one and roam the coastline with your teammates. Or, if you're savvy enough, drive one to the mainland. Yes you can do it.
Let's take a look at some of the key places where you can find a boat.
Your best bet? Look near the water
Since boats use water to move around, it's helpful to look around bodies of water to find your sweet ride. There are places you wouldn't expect to find one.
For example, the island in the center of the map, right next to Salty Springs. At the top, there are two different dock locations where you can get a boat, as well as another just to the southeast, very close to the start of a small canal leading to Lazy Lake. If you want to explore a bit, you can also find a boat to the southwest, just as you start to enter Weeping Wood. We've included a map below for your reference so you can get an idea around the center.
Now if you're on the east side of the island, look around Dirty Docks. There are three boats located around this area. One is on the north side, while the other two are a bit further south, just as the ridge settles. It may take a bit of looking around, but if you land in this area initially, it shouldn't take too long to find a boat.
Where else?
The rest of the locations are scattered. You can find most of them clockwise, around the upper edge and lower parts of the island. Again, it is helpful to look for small peninsulas on the island surrounded by water. These are the places most likely to find a boat. For example, go up to the top of the steep cliffs and you will find one. There is also a couple just north of Sweaty Sands, if you don't mind doing a bit of swimming.
If you're on the south side of the map, just below the center we talked about earlier, there are a few more locations. There should be a boat along the Slurpy Marsh, which can take you along this little trail to the water area by Misty Meadows. There are also a few other personal watercraft here, at the left and right ends of this area. And if you find yourself even further south of the Meadows region, you will find a few boats near the coast.
In essence, there are over twenty places where you can find a boat. Again, going near bodies of water is a great way to go, but you can find it elsewhere. For example, if you go west of Retail Row, you'll find a small cove with a boat waiting. Map locations are highlighted above, in case you get lost. Don't forget to put "I am on a boat" on standby!
