Amazon a few months ago it launched i Video party per Prime Video, which allow you to watch a movie or a TV series together with other people, also interacting via chat. The option was available solo sui browser desktop but now Amazon has announced, somewhat covertly, that the feature is available also for Fire TV.
Amazon Prime Video Video Parties also arrive on Fire TV devices
The e-commerce giant has expanded support for its feature, allowing you to host or join a Video Party on Fire TV devices. While Amazon hasn't made a big announcement about the feature's arrival on the platform, it has updated the list of compatible devices in the Video Party FAQ, as noted by XDA Developers. Unfortunately the update took place only on the American page, while in the Italian one it is still written that Fire TV devices are not supported. The English section now states that you can watch content alongside friends and other Prime members on a Fire TV device within the Prime Video app. At the moment we don't know if Amazon plans to change the Italian page as well.
Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to watch movies and TV series with friends via mobile phone, but you can access the chat section of a Video Party by updating the app to the latest version Prime Video for phones and tablets. This will provide you with an easy way to talk to other attendees without logging into a computer, as well as an easy way to create and share Video Party invitations.
Amazon originally rolled out the feature on Twitch in 2019, allowing streamers to watch videos with their viewers. The version available within Prime Video itself is more suitable for anyone who is not a streamer and just wants to watch content with their favorite people. However, all participants in a Party must also have a Prime membership. Also, if you are watching a paid movie or show, all members must rent or purchase the content that the party creator is watching. This feature supports a maximum of 100 people.
