Everything we know about Corpo's life path in Cyberpunk 2077

The second episode of Cyberpunk 2077's live stream Night City Wire's Biggest Take Away was surely the in-depth examination of the various life journeys. Lifepaths are optional starting points for your character in the game settings hierarchy. So you can build your own reputation before the game really begins.

The most promising and dangerous life path seems to be that of the Corpo (or Corporate), where the protagonist, V, begins his story working for the disturbing mega-corporation Arasaka. Outsider stories are great too, but here's what it's like to start the game at the top of the pecking order.

How being a Corp is different from other paths of life

Unlike Street Kid and Nomad, as a Corp you are already highly respected, even among the most menacing of characters. The Corpo V prologue puts players like a big cat working with the rulers of Arasaka, known in Night City as the city's deadliest business. Previously, CD Projekt Red has shown that Arasaka mainly sells weapons and ensures that the people and government of Night City are under their control.

In this second Cyberpunk presentation, viewers see that Arasaka and V are in big trouble. At the start of the trailer, an employee next to V says, "The world is going to tear us apart when the password is on." Secondly, several council members were shot and killed repeatedly. This leads to many characters warning V that the company may not have its back, with CEO Saburo Arasaka appearing to be the mastermind of evil. So, it's clear that it won't be all the sun and rainbows in the suit and tie world.

Corpo skills and abilities

When it comes to gameplay, chances are you can see the difference being Corpo V, as the developer has hinted that starting in the corporate world will help you throughout your game. “(Corpo) gives you the ability to sometimes read between the lines, to read people when they are trying to do business, which of course can provide you with a lot of interesting opportunities,” teased Philip Weber, Quest Design coordinator. We can imagine it could be similar to the Speech and Barter upgrades in the Fallout series, where players can negotiate and befriend even the cruelest characters. However, we'll have to wait and see what that entails in subsequent revelations.

It also looks like players can take full control of V's counterintelligence skills. In the trailer, Corpo V is given the mission to take down another Arasaka employee by the name of Susan Abernathy. V then attaches a device to his head (or his own) and is able to see additional information about the target. Hopefully fans will find out more about this feature before Cyberpunk 2077 releases on November 19, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC.
