Connected television provides access to all internet content. You must therefore choose a connection method that best matches the home network. To fully enjoy your favorite content, it is also possible to connect the television to other terminals, such as a PC or a tablet.
Choose a connection mode
The connected television has two modes of connection to the Internet network: wifi or wired, via a cable.
- Wifi.
This is the connection method that offers the most freedom. It does not require a cable. In the TV settings, enter the WPA code or the WEP key of the home network, i.e. the password. The television is then connected in wifi to the box of the house.
- Wired.
An RJ45 cable and an Ethernet socket on the television provide a connection between the device and the home network. It is a connection mode which allows a more stable and important flow. Take into account the distance between the TV and the box, depending on the size of the RJ45 cable.
Connect the television to other media
The smartphone, the tablet but also the computer can be connected to the television, provided that they are equipped with wifi.
- Turn the tablet into a remote control.
Download the application offered by the TV brand to transform a touchscreen tablet or smartphone into a remote control. This allows for easier navigation and text entry.
- Share the contents of a PC on television.
The DNLA standard, which equips the vast majority of connected TVs, facilitates the sharing of files from a PC (films, music, photos, etc.).
- Connect the tablet or smartphone to the television.
As with the remote control, download the application proposed by the manufacturer to the tablet or smartphone. Television content can also be used on the mobile terminal, for example to watch the end of a movie.
Manage your favorite content
- Install applications.
According to the manufacturer (Panasonic, LG, Samsung, etc.), each television has its own application store to download. They are then accessible from the television interface, that is to say on the home screen.
- Choose your shows and movies on demand.
From the home screen or in the menus depending on the model, a portal is dedicated to “replay” programs and films, ie delayed.
- Access the Internet.
From the television interface, it is possible to access all internet content: search engines, social networks, Youtube, Dailymotion ...
