Pairing the Samsung QuickDrive washing machine with a smartphone is not necessarily the most obvious. But thanks to this little tutorial, things should be done without too much pain.
Connect your smartphone to the Wi-Fi network and download SmartThings
First of all, it is essential to connect your smartphone or tablet to the Internet via Wi-Fi, then download the SmartThings application, available for free on iOS and Android, and launch it. This requires you to log into or create a Samsung account, which is mandatory to enjoy the experience. Once this is done, it's time to move on to the actual connection.
The washing machine display should show AP to start pairing.
Pairing the smartphone with the washing machine
Then, the washing machine must be put into working order by pressing the "Smart Control" button for two seconds for a long time. The digital display then shows the indication "AP". Return to the smartphone: from the home page of the application (or "dashboard"), pressing the "add a device" tab launches the automatic search for compatible products. Normally, the washing machine should be detected fairly quickly.
TSif this is not the case, it is possible to manually add a device by pressing the "supported devices" button on the dashboard; in this event, be careful to note the reference of the washing machine which can be found on the metal frame, behind the porthole, just below the opening for inserting the laundry.

When the washing machine has been recognized, it is displayed in the "device available" section. By clicking on it, the connection begins. Please note that this operation may take a few minutes. The progress bar provides information on the progress of the process. If all goes well, the application takes the opportunity to register the product just after pairing. After a few seconds, the connection is established and the paired washing machine is easily found by clicking on the "Devices" tab at the bottom of the smartphone or tablet screen.
Rely on the power of the diode
Normally, at the end of the connection, the indication AP displayed on the digital display should have been replaced by a time information concerning the duration of the cycle. In order to effectively take control of the washing machine from a smartphone, all that remains is to fill the drum, close the door and briefly press the "Smart Control" button on the control panel. The dedicated diode lights up and it is now possible to program a cycle remotely either manually or using the washing assistant, to launch it and to monitor its progress using its terminal.
If the Smart Control LED is not on, the remote control will not work.
And AddWash?
AddWash washing machines can be connected more or less the same way: therefore be careful to respect the prerequisites, such as creating an account, long pressing the Smart Control button ... The only difference lies in the search washing machine to be paired. To succeed in the process, we had to manually select the washing machine to connect from the list offered. And of course, be careful to press the Smart Control button to activate the remote control.
