Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 recensione
Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 recensione - Have you ever heard of Cambridge Audio? It is an English company founded in Cambridge in 1968 and specialized in high quality audio products. A quick tour of their website will then be enough to find Hi-Fi systems, speakers and soundbars designed for true audiophiles.
Last year the company decided to launch into the world of auricolari true wireless, proposing to the public i Melomania 1. Compact, with surprising audio quality and record autonomy, these headphones managed to impress us favorably, net of some small flaws.
Not the usual "clone" of the AirPods
Once you open the package you will find yourself in front of an undoubtedly unusual product from a design point of view. The Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 are in fact not the usual "clone" of Apple's AirPods and no, they are not even inspired by Samsung's popular Galaxy Buds. In fact, the shape is far from everything we are used to seeing on the market: are cylindrical and protrude a little, which immediately made me fear for their safety. Yet the reality is quite different: the Melomania 1 remain glued to the ear without major difficulties, they are really very light (less than 5 grams each) and are more comfortable than expected.
To characterize them we also find an LED strip, which indicates the charge level and pairing status, and a physical button for each of the two earphones, indispensable for adjusting the volume, managing calls, pairing them with a new device or calling up the voice assistant. A very practical but not perfect solution: pushing them towards the ear is not always pleasant but it is not a gesture that you will do frequently.
Finally, I would like to point out the presence of IPX5 certification, which makes the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 immune to splashing water and sweat.
He box
Obviously, these earbuds need a place to stay during breaks. Don't panic: in the package you will find a small case that you can keep it safely in your pocket. The closure is magnetic, on the front there are 5 LEDs that indicate the battery level and on the left side we have the door microUSB for charging. We would have liked the newer USB-C but never mind.

Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 review: the listening experience
There is very little to say about the quality of the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1. The two driver from 5,8 mm with graphene diaphragms, i codec aptX, SBC e AAC and the great one Bluetooth 5.0 guarantee an engaging experience with any type of song and a very stable connection.
There is no distortion when we turn up the volume, the bass is pretty good, the sound is precise and the voices are crisp and crystal clear. In short, there was no song on my test playlist that was not done justice.
Calls are his weak point
Let's be clear: you will have no difficulty managing phone calls. In short, he feels good and answering or closing calls is really simple.
The problem is the microphones, which are definitely disappointing. Many of my interlocutors complained about a low volume and above all the presence of a lot of background noise.
Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 review: what autonomy!
Finally, we come to the battery, one of the strong points of this product. Yes, because Cambrdige Audio earphones reach the 45 hours of autonomy. A true miracle for a true wireless product of this size. You can practically forget to recharge them for days or even weeks if you only used them a few hours a day.
Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 review: buy them or not?
The answer is rather complex. With 99,95 € take you home a product undoubtedly capable of satisfying audiophiles. The acoustic quality is in fact beyond question and you will hardly find a pair of headphones so compact and so satisfying at a similar price.
The autonomy then makes them perfect for those who travel a lot, for long flights and for those who do not intend to recharge their earphones every 2/3 days.
But if you are used to working with true wireless earphones, making and receiving many calls, I'm not sure they are right for you. The background noise is rather annoying and often my interlocutors got impatient forcing me to use the smartphone normally.
