BroadLink Smart Bulb is the new smart bulb of the BroadLink line and after having tried it extensively for a week we are ready to offer you one review of this small appliance, as simple as it is full of personality and customization.
BroadLink Smart Bulb: our review
Let's start with the technical specifications. BroaLink Smart Bulb from 10 Wat which works on current 220-240 Volts, once turned on it guarantees a brightness equal to 800 lumens and can be easily installed with a few simple steps using the WiFi.
Once connected to the internet, this device shows its first useful quality, namely that of being completely "noapp". In fact, no type of dedicated application will be needed to configure the bulb, but it will instead be completely manageable via Google Home o Alexa, once associated with one of these two platforms. A function that we particularly appreciated, since it allowed us to use it a few minutes after having inserted it in a E27 attack.
Despite the rather anonymous appearance, on the other hand it is still a light bulb, this small bulb is able to give off a amazing brightness, which does not heat the glass of the device too much, unless you set it to maximum brightness. Which in any case we advise against doing, since at maximum power it can be annoying.
Personalization at your fingertips
The most interesting and, in our opinion, also the most fun feature is the ability to change the color of the light emitted with a simple touch a dedicated screen in Google Smart Home. Here we have several options, we can simply change the type of lighting, from warm to cold or vice versa, or totally change the color spectrum between different possible colors, such as green, purple or red.
In any case, colder colors such as blue and purple are vibrant and well defined, while reds and greens are less incisive, more diluted and discolored.
A pity that there is no possibility of rotating different colors, so that the chromatic scale changes independently over time. However, it must also be considered that we are dealing with a rather simple light bulb and a function of this kind could weigh heavily on its life cycle.
The only real flaw found with Google Home is that sometimes it is no longer detected by the assistant, forcing the user to manually enter the app and click on the device to have it detected again. Anyway, given the assault price of 14.99 € at which it is sold, we can only recommend the purchase, if you are interested in making your home a little smarter.
