How to beat Orpheus
Orpheus is a big headache from the start. When you go into battle with him, he is accompanied by four other forage monsters. Although in themselves they do not pose a particular threat, it is Orpheus himself who turns these beasts into literal reservoirs. Using his singing abilities, he can polish his little friends multiple times, turning them into mini bosses if they aren't wiped out quickly.

- Don't let them fool you: 15% reduction in magic damage taken by the party.
- Don't let them get to you: 15% reduction in physical damage taken by the party.
- Breezy jam: Damage due to high wind.
- Calculation: 300 damage to all allies.
- Liting Lullaby: Inflicts sleep on enemies and those who brave and sleep lose all brave points consumed. Additionally, against any dark magic cast, using this skill right after movement.
In order to be able to partially counter Orpheus' skills, it is advisable to equip the Clothespin accessory, which makes you immune to sleep. This way your dark mages can effectively cast skills without interruption.
Out of the way, here's the best way to deal with Orpheus and his gang. You have to focus on one monster at a time. A VERY important capacity to have for this, would be the “Square One” of the Freelancer. This move negates all buffs from an enemy target, so brave any character that has this skill and use it for all forage creatures. Now they're easy targets for the rest of your team, with single target attacks. Get rid of them and leave Orpheus alone.
With him now as the only target, you only have to watch out for two things. First of all, ignore it when it fails, as the damage you will inflict on it is minimal. And secondly, always have BP available for your healer, because after Orpheus collects 3 BP he will bomb your party and your team members will barely be alive. Therefore, keep the default until you hit max BP, wait for an open without Orpheus using Default, and unleash the hell. Rinse and repeat until this ambitious singer is stunned.
