What to do every day
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has many quests to complete throughout the game that only last as long as they last. You complete a few tasks and then you complete this quest. As in the past, there are also a ton of different daily activities that are there to keep you coming back every day.
The absolute first thing you'll want to do every day is go to Resident Services and interact with the terminal to the right as you enter. This is the Nook Stop, which will reward you with Nook Miles every day for checking in. For each consecutive day that you register in the terminal, you will receive a bonus. You can continue to do this, although the bonus continues to grow after a week. This is the easiest way to earn Nook Miles, as you literally don't have to do anything other than interact with the terminal, so you have to do it every day to take advantage of the free Nook Miles.
Then you should start scouring your island to find items that are all over the island. It can be as simple as regrown fruit or much more important like new fossils and fish. You'll continue to find random spawns for these items on a daily basis, so it's a good idea to come back each day to see what the island has to offer today.
One of the areas in particular that you should be looking for every day are the biggest rocks on the island. These rocks may look ordinary, but one of them can hand out money every day by hitting it with your shovel. The faster you hit the more money you will get, so make sure you find it and get your daily Bells.
Your fellow villagers are very important to Animal Crossing, so you should make sure to consult them every day. See how they fit into the island and discuss what they feel like talking about. It is good to increase your relationships with the other inhabitants of the island and it is a good way to do it.
In addition to talking with your villagers, be sure to check the bulletin board daily. Leave messages for your island or see what other messages have popped up here from friends. This is something that can change every day, so be sure to check it out.
While it doesn't have to be, it's a great idea to try and visit at least one other island each day. This allows you to start acquiring new fruits, bugs and fish which will be very useful for your game. To do this you will need Nook Miles tickets so start saving your Nook Miles to spend them as they are 2 per piece after the first free.
As you can see, there is plenty to do in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that is worth checking out every day. On top of that, there are different multi-part quests with tasks each day, so it's wise to at least check in with your villager each day to see what you can do.
