[Android] No Command error. How to solve? | androidbasement - Official Site

L'errore NO COMMAND (ie “no command”) on Android devices usually shows up when trying to enter recovery mode or while installing a new software update. In most cases, the phone waits for a command to access the recovery options. In some cases you can even get stuck in a boot cycle without showing any "no command" errors but the problem is basically the same.

Regardless of whether you are trying to enter recovery mode or are stuck in a boot loop with the “No Command” error message, below we will look at various possible solutions applicable to virtually all Android devices.

How to Fix NO Command Error on Android

Case 1. Error no command appears when entering recovery mode

If you see this error while booting your phone into recovery mode, the phone is actually waiting for a command to proceed. A simple key combination should help you unlock the situation and permanently resolve the No Command error

Here is a series of key combinations you need to try to resolve the "no command" error and enter recovery mode. Make sure you press the keys at the same time for at least 2-5 seconds:

  1. Hold down the Power + Volume Up keys
  2. Hold down the Power + Home + Volume keys
  3. Press and hold the Power + Volume Down keys
  4. Press and hold the Power + Home + Volume Down keys
  5. Press the Power + Home keys

Depending on your phone manufacturer, one of these combinations should resolve the No Command error and start recovery mode (more on what recovery mode is and how to access it in this article)

Case 2. Android constantly rebooting

If your phone is stuck in a boot loop without showing any error, you can try some solutions to fix it. Usually, this happens due to an incorrect software installation or even a simple device cache error.

Before following these solutions, please follow the instructions above to access the recovery mode on your Android phone. If you are unable to enter recovery mode then turn off your phone by taking out the battery and then try the above key combinations.

Please note: while in recovery mode, you can only use the physical keys to navigate. Use the Volume Up and Down keys to navigate the menu and use the Power button to execute a command.

>> Cache Cleaning

This is the simplest solution that won't cause any data loss. In recovery mode, press the Volume down key and go to the option "Wipe cache partition". Then press the power button to confirm the cache deletion.

If none of the above solutions have been helpful then you should do a factory reset on your phone. This process will also delete all data on the phone. Make sure your data has been properly backed up before proceeding.

After putting the phone in recovery mode use the Volume down key to go to the option "Wipe data / Factory Reset”And press the power button. Confirm the request and the restore process will begin. Once completed, the phone will boot normally and you will need to set it up again.
