There are several alternatives to the 'official' market of applications for android, a service offered by Google.
Personally, I prefer to search for new applications directly from my PC browser, and a little less from my phone. Most (indeed all) markets of applications for android, today offer the possibility to access either by phone or via PC.
The alternative sites to the Google Play Store certainly have characteristics that distinguish them. Below we make a brief summary without highlighting all the differences. Some markets (eg AndSpot) do not offer specific services for users, but try to gather developers by offering advanced features such as simple statistics.
Here is the list of the best alternatives to Google Play:
- Amazon AppStore: vast market. Large catalog of applications with very interesting daily specials.
- AppBrain: born to install the android market directly from your PC browser, it now also allows you to discover new applications based on those you already own. It is a meta-store
- Slideme- Offers niche applications, based on geographic location, payment methods or types of applications that users cannot find in traditional channels
- Samsung Apps: app store for samsung devices which obviously requires the possession of a Samsung mobile phone / tablet
- AndSpot: focused on the app sharing and searching applications
- appsfire: another app to search for applications from official markets (iOS / Android)
- PocketGear service by appia.com: a cross platform (symbian / android / java / winmobile…) with many resources
- aproov: a different website that allows you to download apps after registration.
- MobiHand OnlyAndroid: market focused on very expensive applications, but offers special discounts
- Getjar: offers tons of apps, many of which are also free. Very interesting platform for developers as it allows you to promote your apps for free.
