We have been hearing about it for months now, but for now nothing has been officially confirmed. But apparently they start to arrive confirmations on the hypothesis that Bugatti is really preparing an SUV to complete its range, alongside the current Chiron. The first certainties come from the head of the brand, Stephan Winkelmann in an interview with American Automobile Magazine. In this interview, the businessman claims the SUV is ready, at least in terms of design, and which has already been shown to a handful of potential customers, who would already be very excited. In addition, several influential people who head the Volkswagen group would have been struck by the goodness of the project.

Bugatti SUV? Yes, no, maybe.
However, nothing was really done, as, as Winkelmann recalled, only the design would be validated for the time being. The brand has not yet made the decision on the start of production of this SUV, which should therefore compete with the Lamborghini Urus and the future model of Ferrari, which should take the name of Purosangue . Nothing is done yet, especially since a few months ago, iThe director of the brand had declared that he did not want to give in to the sirens of this trend, confirming that "there will be no Bugatti SUV because - according to him - it would not do justice to the brand or its history". It remains to be seen whether Sir Winkelmann in the meantime, as it would seem from the interview, has changed his mind.
The SUV is in fashion
Why launch a Bugatti SUV? Simply because it is fashionable and demand is strong, as Bugatti's boss explicitly told Automobile Magazine. No electric hypercars it would be forecast for now, because according to Winkelmann it is still too early, “due to the situation of the batteries“. These they are still not powerful enough to offer enough autonomy for a very high performance model. However, many manufacturers want to launch into this market, starting with Pininfarina and its radical Battista, presented in Geneva, or Lotus, which has just unveiled its powerful 2.000-horsepower Evija. Furthermore, nNo sedan is expected soon as the carmaker fears it won't make enough volumes, “after all, we're not talking about 100 cars sold a year but 600 to 800”.
Decreased to 500 km / h?
Finally, it would seem that there is also a transformation of the Chiron in the pipeline to allow you to reach 500 km / h , but it is still the subject of discussions, in particular on the tires to be adopted, but also on the necessary investments.
