13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is finally available worldwide. Vanillaware's adventure-RTS title has been available in Japan for some time, but players around the world can get their hands on it after its global launch.
That is, if you own a PlayStation 4. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim can be purchased for Sony's home console, but some gamers would like to play it on other systems. Namely, those who own a Nintendo Switch have wondered if the game released by Atlus is available to them.
Unfortunately, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim does not have a Nintendo Switch port. Adding to this misfortune, it is not known if it will ever arrive on the hybrid console. While there are no details on 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim being a PS4 exclusive - timed or not - it is not available on other platforms.
However, since there is no confirmation of its PS4 exclusivity, there is still a possibility that 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim could be ported to Nintendo Switch. Vanillaware will be bringing one of his other titles, Shin Megami Tensei V, to Nintendo Switch in 2021, so it's plausible that 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim could follow a similar path.
Porting Shin Megami Tensei V was not without its problems, however. According to former Atlus CEO Naoto Hiraoka, per Siliconera, Vanillaware needed to "experiment a lot" with the development of Shin Megami Tensei V. Indeed, the game is the first that Vanillaware has created for Nintendo Switch. Developing a title for a system that is new to the team means that production will take longer.
If, and when, Vanillaware manages to get Shin Megami Tensei V to the Switch, it could give them the confidence to carry 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim on the same platform. However, for now, you can only buy it on PS4.
