QuakeGuy's growls belong to Trent Reznor [[]
The Ranger's signature growls (aka QuakeGuy) are not provided by someone. Trent Reznor, the boss of provides all the vocalizations - you know, all the noises - that QuakeGuy does while jumping into the spooky interiors of. It's not that surprising when you think about it, were big fans of, and you can find references everywhere.
So when the time came for id's big new FPS project, they asked Trent Reznor to provide the music. He did more than just music, he also provided recordings for all of the sound effects in the game. So when it came time to make some noise for QuakeGuy, Reznor just recorded himself.
I always knew Trent Reznor provided the music for, but I had no idea those little grunts were a celebrity cameo in video games.
Stand and wait in the church tower for spoilers [[]
The games are filled with little details that are downright mind-blowing, and added crazier Easter Eggs like Calendar Man date-specific messages, teasing hidden rooms, and more. But there's a hilarious little spoiler hidden early in the game that most of us haven't seen.
At the start of the story, Joker locks Batman into a church steeple filled with explosives. If you wait for the countdown to end, Joker will stop the timer and reflect on their relationship by saying:
And that's exactly what happens at the end of the game. It's pretty vague, but it's still a cute Easter egg. Who would think to stay behind and call the Joker Bomb Bluff?
