When Star Wars: Squadrons launches on October 2, all players will be able to choose from eight different Star Hunters, across the two factions, the Galactic Empire and the New Republic. There are four on each side that play unique roles. You have the supporting fighter, bomber, interceptor, and star hunter. The ships available play a central role in the combat, and with matches featuring five-on-five combat, you'll be able to work with your team to create a unique squadron to take on.
The fighter
When you don't know exactly how to complete your squad, the Fighting Class is a great option for your squad's playstyle. The hunt option will work like the middle star hunter option, giving you the choice of hunting down enemy players or bombing enemy objectives to score points. You can change how your fighter works based on the components you give him, further specializing your choice. The Galactic Empire has the Tie Fighter, and the New Republic has the X-wing.
The bomber
For players who want to focus solely on attacking enemy objectives, the bomber's massive firepower makes it an ideal choice. What it lacks in speed, it makes up for with solid defense, making the starfighter a difficult target to take down. These slow-moving star hunters will be prime targets for both sides. You'll want to protect allied Starhunters consistently to make sure they can do the most damage to enemy objectives. The Galactic Empire has the Tie Bomber, and the New Republic has the Y wing.
Interceptor
For those who want to engage in the best dogfighters available in Star Wars: Squadrons, you want to go with an intercepting star hunter. These ships are incredibly powerful in space and contain the perfect combination of agility and firepower to defeat enemy star hunters. While agile, they lack a lot of armor, so you'll want to stay mobile during fights, strike when you can. The Galactic Empire has the Link Interceptor, and the New Republic has Wing A.
Support
The last Starfighter role available in Star Wars: Squadrons is the Support Ship. It may not have the same speed as an interceptor, the same firepower as bombers or fighters. Yet he has a pivotal role in helping allies refuel their ships or creating opportunities for other pilots to take advantage of during battle. You will be able to disrupt the shields of an enemy star hunter or rearm your allies with res
