Driver updates are always highly recommended as many peripherals or devices (such as monitors, printers, video cards, and more) may not be recognized correctly by Windows or may no longer function properly.
Probably if everything works perfectly on your computer, it is likely that you already have the correct drivers installed. However, if problems arise, or they want to update drivers, this article is for you.
In particular we will show you how to automatically update drivers in windows without resorting to external programs but simply using the built-in Windows tool. Update drivers in Windows
The procedure indicated is valid for virtually all versions of Windows from Windows 7 to Windows 10, although our main reference is Windows 10. All you have to do is follow these simple steps to be able to automatically search for an updated driver.
- Select the button Home and type Device management.
- Select the relevant item in the results obtained.
- Expand one of the categories to find the name of the device you want to update. Right-click on the item you are interested in and select the option Driver software update as per picture: Update drivers in Windows automatically 2">
- For graphics cards, you need to expand the category Video cards.
- Now from the options that will be shown you have to select Automatically searches for an updated driver. As shown in the picture: Update drivers in Windows automatically 3">
- If Windows will not find any new drivers, then you have to search for it on the device manufacturer's website or use one of the programs that we have reported above.
If these steps don't work, try reinstalling the driver. To do this you must always open Device management, then right-click on the device name and select Uninstall.
Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.
