Produced by Nintendo and published in 1992 for SNES, Super Mario Kart is undoubtedly one of the most popular racing games of the 90s. We are talking about a classic that I personally still jealously guard in my personal collection.
Super Mario Kart can be played from 1 or 2 players, even in split-screen mode. The various cups and game modes take place on 20 different tracks, each characterized by a particular road surface that can be for example asphalt, mud, ice, dirt or grass, just to name a few.
The game was also released in more recent years for other Nintendo home consoles, such as the WII, DS and 3DS. But let's go see the tips and tricks related to the Super Nintendo version, which especially in the 150cc class proves to be quite tough.
TRICKS MARIO KART
SMALL CHARACTERS
In the character selection screen, hold down the Y key and then press A: the character you have chosen will become smaller, which however will not affect the speed. However, if another competitor touches you, you will be crushed. Pressing Y and A will tone to its original size.
SPECIAL CUP
To unlock the Special Cup you have to get the gold trophy in the Mushroom, Flower and Star cups at 100cc.
150cc
To unlock the 150cc displacement, you must win gold in the Mushroom, Flower, Star and Special cups at 100cc.
SPECIAL CUP (CHEAT)
To unlock the Special Cup without winning the other cups, go to the cup selection screen and press L, R, L, R, L, L, R, R in sequence.
SPECIAL TRACKS TIME TRIAL MODE
To unlock the Special Cup circuits in Time Trial mode, go to the Time Trial menu, place the cursor on the Mushroom cup and press L, R, L, R, L, L, R, R, A.
EXTRA LIVES
To gain additional lives, you must finish three races in a row in the same position, for example three times second or three times third.
