Each difficulty has separate but similar S rating requirements.
In Resident Evil 3, you will be rated on how quickly you complete the game and how many times you've saved. Basically, you have to go through the game as fast as possible and save little time.
Each of the three difficulties (Assisted, Standard, and Hardcore) follow this mantra, but the demands are a bit more relaxed the further you descend the totem pole. Here are the S rating requirements for each:
- Assisted
- Free time - two hours and thirty minutes
- to the rules
- Free time - two hours
- Hardcore
- Free time - One hour, forty-five minutes.
- Nightmare
- Free time - two hours
- Hell
- Free time - two hours
To make rank S you also cannot save more than 5 times in a race, so you will have to use the autosave feature to your advantage (unless you play Inferno and then at God's speed). The time decreases until Nightmare, where it increases (probably due to the much larger difficulty difference). It may not seem like a lot, but enemies are harder to kill and the ammo is more limited the harder the difficulty, which will inevitably slow you down.
Here's the difference: You can use Shop Unlocks obtained by completing Registrations. This means Attack Boosting Coins, Unlimited Ammo MUP, CQBR Assault Rifle and more can be used to fight your way through Resident Evil 3 for that sweet S-Rank. Hell, I would say they are for S Nightmare and Inferno ranks.
Sure, purists won't care about anything other than beating the game with a knife, but these shop items make the S Rank more accessible to those who don't live and breathe Resident Evil.
