This week's new update for Red Dead Online sees an all-new Legendary Bounty for all Bounty Hunters to check out. It's so new that I had to go with a photo of the Red Dead online logo instead of an actual depiction of the person involved, The Wolf Man.
It's also a bit "Meh", considering that Barbarella Alcazar is quite brutal last week. I am a little disappointed that it takes me between five and ten minutes to bring this guy to justice, but I am nothing short of thorough. Just like I did for the first Legendary Bounty, here's a guide for the second, The Wolf Man.
Red Dead Online Legendary Bounties: Wolf Man
* Obviously, spoilers ahead if you haven't completed this yet *
The establishment
The werewolf is a man who lives with wolves. He's wanted on multiple counts of murder and is presented to you as one of the worst bi-sons to ever walk the planet. You are told that this will only happen in two ways and that it needs to be brought to justice, one way or another.
The poster also warns you that you need predator bait to complete this Legendary Bounty, but it's a proverbial puzzle, so don't worry, but after seeing the brilliant little movie Rockstar seems to be putting together for all of these you will find yourself dropped off at lake Isabella and you will be told to go see three different places where it could be.
Take the wolf man
It doesn't matter which point you decide to go and investigate first; it's always going to be at the last. Also, it doesn't matter if you don't have winter clothes on your horse or equipped, the weather won't affect you until the mission is completed and you try to get out of the mountain. Pick a point and go for it. Along the way, you will be attacked by wolves but don't worry, a fast bullet to the head blocks them, literally. Eventually, you'll find him sitting in one of his camps, surrounded by a pack of wolves. What appears to be a bad situation can easily be defused as long as you shoot The Wolf Man as quickly as possible, giving you time to focus on his pets as he bleeds prone. Send them in and you'll have the usual choice of either executing The Wolf Man or the Hogtie and taking him alive. As always, the dead bounties aren't worth as much as the actual bounties, so try not to kill him.
Take the werewolf
When he's tied up like a turkey (although I used this line last week), you'll be given instructions for a wagon or the nearest jail. I had a jail car, so all you had to do was follow the directions to the meeting point to drop it off. Along the way you will be attacked, but unlike last week when you had to fight for your life against waves of outlaws, this time around it's his wolves. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't go mano-a-mano with any of them in real life, but on horseback with a repeater? Well, it's just not a fair fight. Kill anything that moves and you'll soon find yourself at your destination with $ 50,00 and a fist full of gold.
Latest Thoughts
After the introduction of Legendary Bounties last week with Barbarella Alcazar, I think Rockstar might have set the bar too high. The showdown with The Queen of Del Lobos was a fiery fight of epic proportions, where high octane cowboy rooting fun was high, this week's The Wolf Man is just a failure. I understand the fact that the guy lives with wild animals and is not part of our society as he likes to tell you on his way to his own hanging but if he had had a backup he wouldn't have been taken care of so easy. The hardest part of it all is trying not to feel bad about the piles of wolf corpses you leave behind while you do your job. Other than that, it's only a star at best and well worth it as it's a legendary bounty. Hopefully next week we'll have a Gatling gun for company.
