Realme X3 SuperZoom review
Until last year Realme it was a company not very present and little known in the Bel Paese. Today things have visibly changed: Realme has begun to conquer its slice of the public by bringing a flood of new devices to the Italian market. Among these there is also Realme X3 SuperZoom, a smartphone that, as its name suggests, focuses on zoom. Will he be able to surprise us? And most importantly, what else does it have to offer? We talk about it in this review.
Abundant display and excellent build quality
The first thing you will notice is the 6,6-inch display, an IPS with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The screen thus guarantees a smooth experience and good color rendering, but pay attention to the hole you find at the top left. In fact, it houses two front cameras which means that it is more abundant than usual and some may not like it.
We also point out l’assenza dell’Always-On Display then you will have to wake up the smartphone to see any notifications. It is not a serious lack but, even in this case, not everyone could appreciate its absence.
On the back instead we find a back cover made of plastic with a matte finish that does not retain fingerprints. Perfect if you are tired of all those glass smartphones to clean several times a day.
The back cover also accommodates the four camera sensors, while on the right edge we find the power button which also integrates a quick fingerprint reader. On the left, however, we have the volume rocker, while the lower side houses the SIM slot, the USB-C connector and the speaker, which guarantees a rather high volume even if not very clean at the highest levels.
And the weight? 202 grams, in line with what the competition offers.
Before moving on to the services I leave you two useful information. First of all found in the package a transparent silicone case, so you can protect your smartphone from the first use. Second you find a protective film pre-installed that protects the display but, happily, makes navigation gestures more uncomfortable. There are two possible solutions: you can use the classic keys - Home, Back and Multitasking - or remove the film.
Realme X3 SuperZoom review: power to sell
Realme X3 SuperZoom shows up with a top-of-the-range configuration: Snapdragon 855+ processor, Adreno 640 GPU, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory. You then have everything you need to perform all kinds of activities, from gaming driven to viewing online content up to the management of emails and documents.
Connectivity is also good. No 5G but supports two SIMs and we have WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC for digital payments. No 3,5mm audio jack but it is a lack we are used to by now.
On the autonomy front, however, we have nothing surprising. Realme X3 SuperZoom does its job though: the 4200 mAh of the battery allow in fact to reach the end of the day without major difficulties, even with 120 Hz active.
Finally, we come to the software. Realme's smartphone relies on Android 10 and Realme UI, the customized interface created by the Chinese company based on Oppo's ColorOS.
Clean, modern and complete, the Realme UI has everything you need: from one-handed mode to the ability to clone some apps through dark mode. You will soon find that using it is a real pleasure.

The zoom is its strong point
The first time we used Realme X3 SuperZoom's zoom we were blown away. Of course, the name should have suggested something but in reality the market is full of smartphones that promise photographic miracles and then always give us the same performances. Realme, however, has kept its promise and the zoom of this device is truly amazing, at least up to 10x. The goal dedicated to the purpose, from 8 megapixel, allows you to capture very sharp details even at a great distance. For example, we concentrated on road signs and discovered that we can read them perfectly even from meters and meters away. In theory, the Chinese company guarantees a digital 60x zoom but by now we have understood it: beyond 10x any smartphone becomes unusable. However, this should not demoralize you: 10x means distinguishing every detail at a distance of 30/40 meters. Not bad, right?
On board we also have a main sensor from 64 megapixel - which by default shoots at 16 megapixels by combining 4 pixels into 1 -, an 8 megapixel wide angle lens and one by 2 megapixels for macros. To be promoted with flying colors is the main camera it gives away pretty good shots albeit not super-detailed. Even at night, things go surprisingly well thanks to the night mode that captures enough light to give us more than discreet shots.
The wide-angle lens, the macros and the two front cameras that still ensure average results are less exciting.
Well the videos, in 4K at 60 fps with electronic stabilization. Even if you move slightly they will be fluid and enjoyable but don't run with your smartphone in hand.
