New Fortnite patch: patch 19.30 available, new features and changes including gyroscope, boot and more
Epic Games has announced that it has concluded the maintenance period scheduled for the implementation of Fortnite update v19.30, which is now available to all players and brings with it some new features and interesting changes.
As reported by the development team, these changes affect the battle royale mode of the famous game, introducing in particular the gyroscopic controls and other new features that aim to improve the gaming experience, also addressing some requests from the huge community of players involved in Fortnite.
In collaboration with Julian "Jibb" Smart, input specialist and creator of the flick stick, Epic Games has announced that it has added optional gyroscopic controls to Fortnite on platforms that support gyroscopes, expanding compatibility beyond Nintendo Switch and Android to PS4, PS5 and PC, and introducing the flick stick.
With version 19.30, Epic Games has also removed the game's splash screen (which appeared on PlayStation, Xbox and PC) that initially allowed you to choose a game mode between Save the World, Battle Royale or Creative. With the patch, you now start directly in the lobby, from where you can directly join the game group.
With this change, the Creative and Save the World modes are now located within the "Discover" screen, which can be accessed by pressing the "CHANGE" button above "PLAY!". This change clearly reflects the desire to give even more prominence and centrality to the Battle Royale mode, which has now become the main focus of Fortnite.
Finally, changes and fixes include removing armored walls from supply drop loot in competitive playlists, fixing an issue that caused two store slots to be available instead of three, fixing a bug where building pieces were not being placed after players had double-tapped their icon, and fixing Spider-Man web shooters launched by eliminated players receiving 20 shots back.
