The protagonists of the game there are 8, all part of the Mario saga: In addition to the mustachioed plumber we find his brother Luigi, Toad, Peach, Wario, Yoshi, Donkey Kong and Bowser. Just like in Super Mario Kart, the first driving game featuring Mario, Mario Kart 64 can also be raced on various routes, along which numerous objects and weapons can be collected. These include turtle shells, bananas, stars, etc.
The championship is represented by the Mario GP mode, which is somewhat reminiscent of F1 races, but you can also choose the Challenge 1 vs. 1 or that Battle, in which it is necessary to hit the opponent repeatedly. These too, modes already seen in the Super Nintendo version. Then there is the Time Trial, which allows you to compete against your ghost to improve personal records on the various courses. In Mario Kart 64 you can also compete with 4 players at the same time.
Each character has their own characteristics of sprint, top speed, cornering control and agility. In all the tracks in which you can compete are 16, while the trophies are 4: Mushroom, Flower, Star and Special.
THE TRICK OF BANANA
Brake as soon as you slide on a banana peel. Continue to brake for about 1 second, then release the button and accelerate again. In Battle Mode this will prevent you from slipping and losing a balloon.
GO IN THE WATCH
If you can't overtake an opponent, try to get exactly behind his kart. You will see air trails coming from his vehicle and you will gradually be able to gain speed. Not a lot, but enough to get over it.
THE CASTLE OF MARIO 64
In the Royal Raceway after the big jump you will find a yellow road on the right. If you follow it, it will take you directly to Mario 64's castle.
