There won't be any updates, expansions, or any new content for The Elder Scrolls: Legends, at least for the foreseeable future. Bethesda recently announced that its free-to-play card shuffler is “on hold” now and will remain so until further Fallen. There was one more content expansion addition planned for this year, which is now also on hiatus, as the developer puts it, "has decided to suspend all new content development or new releases for the foreseeable future."
The Elder Scrolls: Legends is a Bethesda Softworks card-based video game released in 2017 and it's available for PC, macOS, iOS, and Android so far. The title belongs to the popular video game series The Elder Scrolls, which has many popular titles in its rich opus, like Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim and many other award-winning and critically acclaimed titles. The series as a whole has sold over 50 million copies of the games worldwide, also achieving great commercial success. Legends takes the lore, creatures, and characters from the series and brings them into a turn-based card game, with the familiar 1v1 match environment (player vs. player or player vs. AI).
Since its release, the game has had eight expansions, all as a premium purchase, and the most recent expansion for the game was Jaws of Oblivion, which released in September 2019. Now with this production halt and The updates, the game will no longer develop at any time, although there was apparently another content bundle slated for late 2019. However, the Asian-specific version of Legends is operated separately without Bethesda, and their announcement does not include this area.
The game is still available for download on mobiles and PC, despite this announcement of course, and it will still be playable. Everything remains normal and as usual, don't expect new content anytime soon. As a thank you to all fans and gamers of the game, Bethesda is offering the Tamriel Collection to all gamers, which includes the new three-attribute cards. The giveaway will be awarded immediately upon logging into the game. The developer said in their statement, “We are extremely grateful to be working on The Elder Scrolls: Legends and we sincerely appreciate the love and support you have given us. "
Additionally, the game will run normally, including monthly card rewards, scheduled in-game events, maintenance, support, and everything in between. So nothing really changes. In fact, it will be so for now. Finally, Bethesda's moment of this decision to stop The Elder Scrolls: Legends expansion comes just days after CD Projekt RED announces that it is abandoning its console version of the GWENT card game and transfers all player progress to a unified account.
