The first new weapon added to the Hyper Scape arsenal of the game's Open Beta is the Harpy, a rapid-fire fully automatic pistol designed exclusively for close-range use. The Harpy SMG deals heavy damage quickly, but is hampered by its small magazine size at the base and relative inaccuracy in range.
The best thing about this new weapon is its spray control. As you would expect, the Harpy is much more accurate when aiming down. However, its maximum spread is still tolerable when shooting from the hip, and this SMG doesn't gain extra spread when running or jumping, which means you can shoot it on the move and get results.
Like all Hyper Scape auto pistols, the Harpy gains additional ammo abilities with each upgrade level, and at max level it also increases damage. At this point, the Harpy has enough ammo in the magazine to take down up to three enemy players with body hits before needing to reload.
Is the harpy good? It's hard to say at the moment, but the odds are currently against this little SMG. Despite heavy nerves at Skybreaker and Salvo, the Hyper Scape meta is still largely dominated by medium and long range weapons. This game gives players the ability and incentive to quickly reach heights and create enormous distance between themselves and their opponents, and that doesn't really help dedicated close-range weapons like the Harpy.
If you want to use the Harpy, try pairing it with Hyper Scape with abilities that would help you get up close to enemies safely, like invisibility and teleportation. The Harpie is best when used indoors, although if you find yourself facing a Salvo, you might end up regretting your choices.
