Like the Xbox One and the PS4, it is possible to completely turn off the Nintendo Switch, but also to leave the latter on standby, in particular to take advantage of an instant restart. Here's how.
To turn on the Nintendo Switch:
1. To turn on the console, simply press and hold the Power button, located on the top of the machine.
2. After a few seconds, the screen displays the Nintendo logo, and the console begins to start up (which takes about ten seconds)
To suspend the Nintendo Switch:3. To put the Nintendo Switch to sleep, simply press the Home button for a few seconds, located on the right joy-con
4. From then on, all you have to do is validate the Standby function displayed by the superimposed menu
In this way it is possible to instantly turn on the Nintendo Switch again, by pressing the Home button or the Power button again, and resume the game at the exact place where you left off. Practical especially when you have to interrupt a game before a save point for example, or even when you download an update or a demo, since the standby mode does not prevent the download.
A standby mode which allows an immediate restart, but which necessarily consumes a little battery.
