Il touch ID di Apple allows us to protect our iPhone or iPad with your fingerprint. Recently, with the making of the iPhone X, the Face ID. It is a new technology that allows us to unlock the iPhone using our face. However, many users still prefer to use a numeric password or an alphanumeric password. It is advisable to use a fairly strong passcode, as this is a much more secure solution than biometric sensors.
Apple gives us the ability to disable both Face ID and Touch ID, so we can use a traditional passcode.
Disattivare Touch ID o Face ID
Disabling these two security options is really simple. Obviously, the procedure varies slightly depending on the protection we are turning off. The Face ID only concerns the iPhone X, the latest model from Apple, while the Touch ID concerns the iPhone models from 5s upwards. In both cases, the procedure to follow is very similar, if not for a few different items in the menus.
- We open the Settings of our device;
- Let's scroll down and select the item Touch ID and codice (Face ID and codice your iPhone X);
- We insert the unlock code of the device;
- In the new screen we disable the three options related to touch ID (Face ID);
- Let's turn off the voices Unlock iPhone, Apple Pay e iTunes & App Store, setting the toggle su off.
Once this is done, we will have deactivated Touch ID or Face ID. In this way, only the unlock code will be used. For this reason it is essential to use a customized alphanumeric code, as it is much more secure than the 4- and 6-digit numeric code. To use it just select the option Change codice, within the section Touch ID and codice, and choose the option Custom alphanumeric code. At this point, we will be able to choose a new personalized password which is more difficult to discover.
We strongly advise against deactivating the unlock code as well. The smartphone is practically full of our personal data and it is absolutely not a good move to leave it unprotected. If an attacker comes into contact with our device, they can easily access all of our personal information, as in the case of a stolen or lost iPhone.
