Episode # 2 of our column "how to take better photos with iPhone". Let's start immediately with a very popular "hot" topic: how to take the photo of the moon with iPhone? How do you take good photos at night? How can the stars be immortalized? All of this often simply requires the right technique and a bit of cunning, but most importantly, what we need is to watch this video!
In the lines below we will trace some of the concepts we saw in the video, so that you can focus them on these key points and take home some really interesting shots. Let's start:
The telephone is not everything!
Many users ask me how it is possible to take beautiful night photos and I often hear that the main reason is the smartphone, my iPhone in this case. The phone is not everything: obviously having a camera phone is a great help if you want to take really beautiful shots, especially if you are fond of photography. Much, however, is also in how you use it to make the work easier for the target!
Here are some tips and tricks for shooting at night or trying to photograph the moon:
Avoid blurry / blurred photos
It seems trivial but avoiding the photos being blurry at night, or worse still moved, is far from obvious. When the sensor detects low light it will immediately try to “open” to let in as much light as possible. This often results in improperly focused photos.

For this I advise you to use a simple kickstand for iPhone or a handle like that, holding the elbows tight as the monster in the image.
Light and Exposure: this unknown!
The exhibition is a parameter that can be set with both iPhone and any other Android smartphone. This allows you to increase or decrease (digitally) the brightness of the photo. In the case of night photos it is appropriate decrease exposure in the photo, so that this is then balanced by the longer exposure time.

Position yourself where there are light sources that can help your sensor process the data. Light = Photos, and I recommend no flash! At the most you can think of using theHDR but even in this case you need a steady hand!
The iPhone's Night Mode
The night mode is now present on all the best camera phones and allows you to take advantage of a real sadditional oftware in the camera of your phone to process night photos in such a way as to mitigate noise and have brighter shots. Sometimes miracles can really be done!

So don't think about holding your smartphone in your hands, but equip yourself with a easel.
In this case I advise you to intervene in post production to touch up colors, exposure and details using the Gallery on iPhone. The results in some cases will amaze you!
How to take pictures of the moon
So here we are at the pivotal point: how to take a photo of the Moon with your smartphone? There are essentially two methods: iPhone 11 fails to have a zoom that can take pictures of the Moon, but buying a telescope for iPhone the game is done:

HOWEVER' not everyone wants to go around with a small telescope and therefore another method to be able to take the Moon is to buy the application Pro Camera by Moment that I found on the Apple Store, thanks to which I was able to set a digital zoom such as to be able to immortalize the Moon:

Obviously in both cases you have to use a tripod, otherwise you will never be able to focus on the Moon and take home a decent shot. Here are some pretty good tripods:
