Vex Offensive: Final Assault has arrived in Destiny 2. This is the final stage in our battle against the Vex, which means attacking the Unchanging Spirit. The unchanging spirit exists in the thousands of realities, so we have to go into the black garden and destroy any iterations of it that we can find. This is a limited-time event that will disappear from the game at the end of The Living Dead season.
To start the Vex Offensive: Final Assault, head to the tower and talk to Ikora. She will explain that The Thousands of Undead Spirits are to be killed and that she and Zavala have already started the process. Now it's up to you to continue their efforts.
To start playing the event itself, follow the steps below:
- Open your manager
- Go to the Destinations tab
- Go on the moon
- Click on the Vex Offensive: Final Assault node at the bottom left of the screen.
The event unfolds almost the same as the previous version of the Vex Offensive. Eliminate the waves of enemies, then take out the door mechanisms to get the energy weapons that will allow you to destroy the floating crystals, then proceed to the next area.
After doing this twice, it will be time to fight the steadfast spirit. Again, this is done very similarly to the original version. Eliminate enemies until Door Mechanics appear, then use lasers to take out Undying Mind's shield.
You'll have little time to do damage, so save Heavy ammo and Supers when the shield is down. Undying Mind also has three rotating shields that you cannot get rid of. So be sure to pass your shots through these shields.
Once you've burned the boss's health bar, the event is over and you can head to the chest that appears to collect your loot.
